Eveanna

Eveanna is the creative director of Yoga Creatives. She was born in Ireland and immigrated to Australia at a young age. She has been blessed to have lived and experienced life in many different countries throughout her years. Eveanna has always had a passion for travel and thrives in far-flung destinations that compliment her passion to write and create. She has finally settled in India where her itchy feet syndrome has been remedied by the rich and exciting adventure filled land she now calls home.

Eveanna has written creatively since the age of thirteen. She worked as a freelance writer, script editor and scriptwriter for the last four years. She has written for popular kids series produced by companies such as BBC and Jam Media.

Eveanna is the director and co-founder of the independent production company “Hot Drop”. Her main role with Hot Drop has been writing and script editing for their short film department. She co-wrote and produced the hugely successful “Nun Fu” short film animation series for Atom films.

Her latest venture has seen her take up the role of Editor and features writer for “Eye On Goa” a magazine publication to be launched in October 2008 by publishing company Cosmic Multimedia.

Eveanna started practicing Yoga a year and a half ago. It was during this time that she had embarked on writing her first Novel. When she arrived in India and began practicing Yoga and meditation it became clear to her that it was much more than “exercise” that she had been used to practicing in the west. Her connection with her creative self deepened immensely through her practice in India. She became more focused after even short meditation sessions and began to use her Yoga practice and meditation as the key to unlock the doors of creative flow. During this time her writing flourished and both the quantity and quality increased daily.

Eveanna came to India when she found herself trapped by the usual obligations and restraints that were inhibiting her from really immersing herself in her writing projects.
The tranquil surrounds, the moving sights, people and stories of India alongside the time and space she found gave her the priceless opportunity to really get back to herself.

Yoga Creatives was born when Eveanna teamed up with the Himalaya Yoga Valley programme Director, Maeve O’Brien and Himalaya Yoga Valley Director, Lalit Kumar.
The trio’s respective creative, management and business backgrounds (and of course their shared passion and love for Yoga) ensure a perfect balance, enabling them to pass on the opportunity for creators from around the world to immerse themselves in their work whilst experiencing all of the joys of India through these life changing retreats!

Maeve

Maeve O’Brien was born in Ireland and has lived in Perth Western Australia since 1989. Maeve joins Himalaya Yoga Valley management as Program Director. Maeve is also the Programme Director for Yoga Creatives. Her previous experience in management covers spanned 17 years in WA Department of Justice She is also a lecturer in Justice Studies at Edith Cowan University Perth for the past eleven years. Maeve holds a Batchelor Arts (Justice ); Honours Degree ( Justice) from Edith Cowan University ; a Diploma of Business and a Masters of Leadership and Management from Curtin University.

Maeve credits her yoga practice and meditation with providing her with clarity and calmness of mind for effective business and personal decision making. Yoga has nourished my mind , body and spirit and given me the inner peace and harmony I have long been searching for to be able to operate at my optimum in a busy world. Maeve is a graduate of Himalaya Yoga Valley teacher Training Course in Goa

Lalit

Lalit is the Director of Himalaya Voga Valley. He has completed his Masters Science in Yoga and is currently undertaking a Masters PHd in Yoga Philosophy in conjunction with writing a book on yoga for teachers.

Lalit has studied Ashtanga and Hatha yoga from the age of seven at the traditional yoga school Gurukulam. He has studied with well known yoga Master Swami Vedabharti. Lalit conducts deep yoga therapy sessions and intensive yoga workshops. He also undertakes yoga therapy on a one to one basis for persons with injuries or particular illnesses. Lalit is also a Reiki Master. His unique teaching methodology comes from the heart which makes it unique and interesting for yoga practitioners and trainees.

Lalit has been practicing yoga for the past fifteen years. He has taught in India and overseas. He has trained national and international students in Asthanga and Hata Yoga using his easy to learn teaching techniques and his friendly yoga approach. Both beginners and advanced yoga practitioners have enjoyed learning and practicing with him.
